Earthquake Causes Airport Closures & Le Havre Port Strike

February 2, 2023

Hello all,

First and foremost our thoughts and prayers to all in Syria and Turkey as they deal with the devastating losses from the powerful earthquakes that have struck the region there.

Airports in southeastern Turkey, including Gaziantep Oguzeli International Airport (LTAJ/GZT) and Kahramanmaras Airport (LTCN/KCM), remain open only for rescue and aid operations. All flights have been suspended at Hatay International Airport (LTDA/HTY). Malatya Erhaç Airport (LTAT/MLX) has also sustained damage.

In Lebanon, Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport (OLBA/BEY) sustained minor structural damage due to the quake.

In Le Havre France, port and dock workers at the port of Le Havre will be on strike starting February 7 and February 8. This will undoubtedly cause delays with household goods shipping in this area.

As always, we’ll let our customers know of any changes we may have to move in.
